Job summary

Alignerr seeks a Biology Researcher (Masters or PhD) to help shape AI reasoning in genetics, biotechnology, and bioinformatics. This fully remote hourly contract invites scientists to design and solve advanced biology problems that challenge AI models.

You will work independently on task-based assignments, review AI-generated outputs for rigor, and collaborate asynchronously with researchers. Fluent English is required.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in Biology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
• Deep knowledge in at least one area: genetics, biotechnology, or bioinformatics.
• Experience coding in Python or R for research.
• Fluent English communication.

About The Role

Who You Are

• Hold a Master's or PhD in Biology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, or a closely related field
• Deeply knowledgeable in at least one of: genetics, biotechnology, or bioinformatics
• Comfortable coding in Python or R for research or analytical purposes
• Exceptionally clear and precise in written communication — you can explain complex science without losing the detail
• Detail-oriented and methodical — you hold your work to a high standard
• Fluent in English

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with data annotation, data quality review, or evaluation systems
• Familiarity with AI tools, language models, or scientific benchmarking
• Background spanning multiple biology sub-disciplines
• Experience writing for scientific publication, grant applications, or technical documentation
