Job summary

Oklahoma Baptist University seeks an Associate Professor of Biology to teach undergraduate courses, advise students, and engage in scholarship within a Christ‑centered liberal arts context.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biology, excellence in teaching and mentoring, and a deep commitment to Christian faith and practice. Responsibilities include curriculum development, service, and collaboration with university colleagues.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to teach biology courses effectively at the undergraduate level.
• Ability to thoughtfully integrate Christian faith with biology and ethics.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with college students one-on-one, in small groups, and in larger classrooms.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with students, staff, faculty, and community partners.
• Commitment to mentoring students from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Responsibilities

• Teach a variety of undergraduate biology courses for majors and non‑majors.
• Develop student-centered teaching strategies that integrate faith and learning, including labs and educational tech.
• Advise and mentor Biology majors and minors in academic planning and spiritual formation.
• Participate in curriculum development and assessment aligned with learning outcomes.
• Engage in scholarship appropriate for a liberal arts environment.
• Integrate Christian faith into classroom and laboratory settings.
• Participate in university committees and governance.
• Assist with recruitment and retention for Biology majors.
• Uphold and promote the Christian mission and values of the University.
