Job summary

Illinois Central College is seeking a part-time Professional Tutor to support student learning across physiology, anatomy, life sciences and microbiology. The role requires a minimum of 15 tutoring hours per week and work at both Peoria and East Peoria campuses.

You will provide tutoring, prepare supplemental materials, foster a positive learning environment, and maintain confidentiality with students. Qualifications include an associate degree or higher in Biology or related field; proficiency

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Biology or related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and professional relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring instruction to students.
• Provide overall academic support in assigned subject.
• Professional, knowledgeable and patient at all times.
• Create a positive learning atmosphere within the Academic Support Program.
• Maintain confidentiality and appropriate boundaries with students.
• Prepare supplemental materials specific to subject.
• Perform related duties as required.
