Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Broad background in standard laboratory safety and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of materials and supplies for the introductory biology laboratories including planning, scheduling, and placing orders; culturing, collecting, and preparing materials; keeping detailed prep notes with updates of changes.
• Primary Lab staff member who sets up and breaks down the introductory teaching laboratories each week.
• Maintenance of records and documentation associated with the teaching laboratory classrooms including records of safety data sheets for chemical use and hazardous waste management, cleaning and maintaining equipment, and trouble-shooting equipment/supply issues.
• Providing supervision of and safety information and instructions for student staff; assist with hiring and timecard approvals.
• Assisting with administrative duties to support the BIOL lab program and other departmental initiatives.
