Job summary

Savannah Technical College seeks part-time, Adjuncts to teach Anatomy & Physiology I, Anatomy & Physiology II, Microbiology, and Introductory Biology courses. The Adjunct Biology Instructor will be responsible for the following duties (the list is not intended to be exhaustive): Instructing students, developing program syllabi, goals and objectives.

Must have a flexible schedule of lecture and laboratory and may involve split teaching shifts or routine travel between campus locations.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in biology, Microbiology or Physiology with 18 graduate semester hours or 30 graduate quarter hours.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in usage of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work day and/or evening hours.
  • Ability to be an active part of instructional and non-instructional activities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in biology, Microbiology or Physiology, or closely related field with 18 graduate semester hours or 30 graduate quarter hours in Biology, Microbiology or Physiology from an accredited college or university.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in usage of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to workday and/or evening hours.
  • Ability to be an active part of instructional and non-instructional activities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of instructing Biology, Microbiology, or Physiology and lab at an accredited collegiate/university.
Physical Demands
  • Responsibilities are typically performed in an office or classroom/lab environment with the employee intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling for up to three (3) – four (4) continuous hours at a time.
  • The employee frequently lifts lightweight objects up to 25LBS.
  • The exposure to dirt, dust, chemicals, fumes, and hazardous materials is possible in the laboratory environment.
  • The ability to distinguish colors and finger dexterity is required.
