Job summary

CSN is seeking part-time instructors to teach Biology through the Jump Start Program at a high school in the Clark County School District. The role covers college-level biology lectures and lab work, with emphasis on human concerns and organism biology, ecology and evolution to provide a modern societal perspective.

Courses fulfill the lab science GE requirement. The instructor will deliver lectures and labs, develop materials, assess student work, and maintain records in alignment with program

Qualifications

Required: Pre-approval by the Department of Biological Science and the Dual Credit & Early College Programing; submission of resume, cover letter, and unofficial college transcripts (optional).
Preferred: Biological science or an MS degree in Biology or a closely related discipline such as Zoology with research leading to a thesis or dissertation. Master of Arts or Master of Education degrees that do not involve research are typically not acceptable.

Responsibilities

Deliver college-level biology instruction and laboratory sessions to high school students.
Develop and implement course materials, assignments, and assessments aligned with program objectives.
Grade student work and provide timely feedback.
Maintain student records and comply with academic policies.
