Job summary

Florida Gulf Coast University seeks an Instructor of Biology to teach lower-level undergraduate biology courses, including those supporting pre-nursing. The role includes course development, student-centered teaching, and active participation in college and university initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Biology with at least 18 graduate credits in the discipline.
  • Demonstrated potential for teaching undergraduate courses.

Responsibilities

  • Teach 12 credit hours per semester of lower-level biology courses as assigned.
  • Participate in disciplinary research and Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL).
  • Prepare and deliver course content, including syllabi, lectures, and assessments.
  • Maintain office hours and communicate with students and colleagues.
  • Participate in departmental, college, and university meetings and curriculum development.
  • Use the university learning management system to support teaching.
  • Complete mandatory trainings and comply with policies.
  • Contribute to service at departmental, institutional, and community levels.
