Job summary

Louisiana State University of Alexandria invites applications for a full-time Instructor of Biology. The nine-month, non-remote position will primarily teach Human Anatomy and Physiology courses, general education biology for non-science majors, and other courses as needed.

The instructor will support student success through effective teaching, course development, advising, and service to the department and university.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Human Anatomy and Physiology or related field.
• Teaching experience, preferably at the undergraduate level in biology.
• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate Human Anatomy and Physiology and general biology for non-majors in face-to-face and online formats.
• Develop and deliver lectures, laboratory activities, assignments, and assessments.
• Develop online biology courses in collaboration with LSU Online as needed.
• Develop syllabi and instructional materials aligned with course objectives.
• Evaluate student performance through assignments, examinations, and other assessments.
• Provide student support through office hours, tutoring, advising, and communication.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum and instructional quality.
• Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and service activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
