Job summary

The University of Central Missouri (UCM) invites applications for a Teaching Graduate Assistant in Biology for Spring 2027. The GA will assist in laboratory instruction, direct undergraduate labs, and support grading and discussion sections.

Applicants must be admitted to the Biology MS program, meet GPA requirements, and expect teaching duties around 20 hours per week with a $4,950 semester stipend. Start: 1/11/2026; End: 5/7/2026.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Required.
  • Currently admitted to a UCM Biology graduate degree program.
  • Graduate GPA 3.0+ if applicable; undergrad GPA 2.7+ if no grad courses.
  • Experience with diversity and social justice; ability to address student behavior; leadership or supervision experience.

Responsibilities

  • Direction of undergraduate students in preparation of assigned laboratories, grading quizzes and reports.
  • Proctor major examinations or assist in lab preparation.
  • Provide supplemental instruction.
  • Lead small discussion groups and aid in grading and exam distribution.
