Job summary

Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) invites applications for Adjunct Faculty - Biology at Annandale to teach across in-person, remote, and online formats. The position supports up to 12 credit hours in fall and spring and up to 8 in summer.

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree or higher (or a Master’s with at least 18 graduate credits) and have prior higher education teaching experience in classroom, hybrid, and online formats. NOVA is committed to inclusive excellence.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in the teaching field or a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours of coursework in the teaching field. Degrees must be regionally accredited.
• Prior experience teaching in higher education.
• Experience teaching in classroom, hybrid, and online formats.
• Commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive learning environment.
• Experience teaching students from diverse language backgrounds and proficiency levels.

Responsibilities

• Teach specific biology courses as assigned.
• Develop course syllabi and instructional materials.
• Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
• Adhere to NOVA policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Maintain current competence in the discipline.
