ERM is seeking a Biologist - Desktop Analyst (Field Based) in Walnut Creek, CA. This full-time, limited-term role involves desktop reviews and environmental constraints analysis for construction sites across Northern California.

The position requires a natural science degree and 2+ years of relevant California habitat experience, with a hybrid work arrangement including one day/week at a local client office. Strong Excel and data-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

BA/BS or Master’s degree in a natural science discipline.
2+ years of experience in California habitats, or similar (Northern California experience preferred).
Hybrid work environment with up to 1 day per week at local client office.
Strong proficiency in Excel, MS Word, and online data management systems.
Excellent time management and follow-through skills.

Responsibilities

Conduct desktop reviews for environmental clearance work.
Perform desktop-based environmental constraints analysis.
Complete work per ERM’s management system and quality standards.
Follow processes and identify improvements to benefit the client.
If in the field, work remotely and independently as required.
Train and become proficient in the client’s Work Management Systems.
Comply with ERM’s safety program.
Possibly conduct ArcGIS-based desktop constraint analysis.
Work under supervision of a Senior Scientist.
Understand digitally available resource layers and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
