Job summary

Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a Biological Development Manager to lead an R&D team focused on vaccine development and biologics process development, from early research through manufacturing transfer.

You will oversee strategy, project execution, regulatory support, technology transfer, and compliance in a regulated biologics environment, while mentoring scientists and coordinating cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field with 10+ years of industry experience, including 5+ years supervisory.
• Master's degree plus 6+ years of experience, including 3+ years supervisory.
• PhD plus 4+ years of experience, including 2+ years supervisory.

Responsibilities

• Lead an R&D team focused on vaccine development and biologics process development.
• Oversee development and production of experimental vaccines from research to manufacturing transfer.
• Direct bacterial fermentation, downstream processing, lyophilization, scale-up and tech transfer.
• Manage Master Seed/Cell production and coordinate testing submissions.
• Develop antigen production and downstream processing methods.
• Provide technical support to Manufacturing during process implementation.
• Lead early-stage assay development for new product initiatives.
• Prepare, review, and support regulatory submissions.
• Develop project plans and monitor milestones.
• Mentor, train, and develop scientists; ensure lab safety and documentation.
