Job summary

Merck is seeking a capable candidate to support the solutions prep team in a professional lab, aiding development and commercialization of life-saving therapeutics. You will learn in a GMP-influenced lab while collaborating with upstream, downstream, and process development scientists to ensure cleanroom integrity and compliant documentation.

The role requires hands-on experience with lab equipment, strong communication, and the ability to adapt to shift work and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemical/Biochemical/Biomedical Engineering/Biology/Chemistry with 1+ year of relevant experience.
• Strong skills in laboratory experimentation and documentation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work in cross-functional team environments.
• Lead small projects or sub-teams including vendor interactions.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn new lab techniques, adhere to all safety guidelines, and lift/move up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage in the preparation of solutions to support pilot plant operations.
• Batch documentation within an electronic laboratory system.
• Participate in scheduling discussions within the operations team.
• Work collaboratively with pilot plant operations, upstream and downstream teams.
• Work collaboratively with process development scientists from across BPR&D.
• Support safety and training initiatives.
• Track and document chemicals usage and inventory.
• Employs good housekeeping and maintains clean room to prevent contamination and integrity of production.
