Job summary

Amgen in Thousand Oaks, CA is seeking a Process Development Associate Scientist to perform sample preparation, analytical testing, method development, and characterization using biophysical and spectroscopic techniques, including IR, CD, UV-vis, DSC.

You will support product and process characterization, develop acceptance criteria, generate reports, and collaborate with scientists across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Associate’s degree plus 2 years of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Physics, or related experience.
• High school diploma or GED plus 4 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform sample preparation, analytical testing, method development, and characterization using biophysical and spectroscopic techniques (IR, CD, UV–vis, DSC) for thermal stability analysis.
• Characterize higher-order structure (HOS) and aggregation-related attributes of biologics for product characterization and comparability studies.
• Prepare complex data analyses, interpret results, troubleshoot, and generate technical reports and presentations.
• Develop acceptance criteria to support process development and similarity studies.
• Collaborate with scientists across multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams and communicate technical findings effectively.
• Work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to evolving project needs.
