Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid Class E driver's license.
• Hemiptera knowledge preferred.

The Biological Scientist I will identify arthropod specimens, maintain reference collections, prepare specimens for research and loans, and conduct morphological studies. The role includes occasional travel for pest surveys, inspections, and emergency programs.

Key qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in biological, physical, natural, or agricultural sciences
• Expert knowledge of current systematic practice and theory, specimen curation and preparation procedures
• Ability to use compound and dissecting microscopes
• Ability to use computer hardware and software
• Valid Class E driver license
• Work experience in the area of Hemiptera preferred
