Job summary

University of North Texas - Denton seeks a Scientific Instrument Technician to assist in managing the Biological Sciences Department's research labs. Qualifications

  • Three years of related experience or equivalent education and training.
  • Experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing scientific instruments.
  • Knowledge of State of Texas and/or UNT policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain scientific instrumentation.
  • Install new equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Assist researchers with equipment usage and maintenance.

Skills

Ability to read and interpret complex drawings
Ability to creatively work from ideas
Skilled with common tools and power tools
Ability to design, troubleshoot and maintain equipment
Knowledge of safety precautions
Working knowledge of scientific instrumentation
