BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support center operations, under center leadership. You will focus on donor eligibility, adverse events, and reviewing laboratory results to ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include donor screening, medical assessments, and coordinating care for emergencies. Required nursing licensure, CPR/AED, IV therapy training, and 2+ years in clinical settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; nursing program degree meeting state requirements.
• Current LPN or LVN license/certification for the responsible state.
• CPR and AED certification current.
• State requirements for basic IV therapy fulfilled.
• Completion of BioLife Medical Support Specialist FDA-approved training.
• Minimum two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history, exam, blood tests, and SPE review.
• Manage donor adverse events and evaluate reactions per SOPs; arrange emergency transport as needed.
• Refer findings needing medical guidance to Center Physician or Medical Affairs.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/ER guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator and assist investigations of local pandemics.

Job Overview

BioLife Plasma Services is a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports plasma center operations, reporting to the Plasma Center Manager and works under guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician. The role focuses on donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
• Manage donor adverse events and evaluate donor reactions as outlined in the SOPs; follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies and coordinate donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for findings that require medical or technical guidance concerning donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents, determining whether further evaluation by occupational health/ER is required; refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
• Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; graduate degree from a recognized nursing program meeting state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Minimum two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Benefits

Competitive hourly wage range of $23.04 – $31.68 (actual wage based on qualifications, experience, and location).
