Job summary

Caris Life Sciences is seeking a Manager, Bioinformatics to lead a team of scientists responsible for next-generation sequencing (NGS) bioinformatics pipelines in a clinical genomics environment. You will oversee development, validation, and production across research, assay development, and clinical operations.

The role requires a PhD and 5–8 years of hands-on bioinformatics experience, plus 2–4 years of people leadership.

Qualifications

• PhD required.
• 5–8 years hands-on bioinformatics experience in NGS pipeline development, validation, or production.
• 2–4 years of people leadership experience.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong programming/scripting in Python, Bash, SQL, R.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of bioinformatics scientists.
• Manage day-to-day bioinformatics operations and ensure timely delivery across development, validation, and production.
• Oversee development, optimization, and maintenance of NGS pipelines and workflows.
• Collaborate with software engineering and IT for cloud-based infrastructure and data storage.
• Ensure adherence to quality, regulatory, privacy, and security requirements.
• Translate scientific and clinical requirements into analytical solutions.
