As the Spatial Bioinformatics Manager at MGI US LLC, you will lead the development and application of advanced data analysis pipelines for single-cell and spatial genomics, including Stereo-seq technology. Leveraging your technical expertise and leadership experience, you will drive innovation in bioinformatics workflows, support product development, and enable scientific discovery across research and customer-facing applications.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Lead team execution: Manage and mentor a team of bioinformatics scientists, setting priorities and tracking performance to achieve business and scientific goals
  • Develop pipelines: Design, optimize, and maintain analysis pipelines for single-cell and spatial genomics data
  • Drive technology transfer: Transition workflows from R&D to regional and customer-facing teams, improving scalability and usability
  • Resolve technical issues: Troubleshoot workflow and data challenges, performing root cause analysis for internal and customer projects
  • Own cloud infrastructure: Oversee cloud-based data analysis and storage systems (e.g., AWS) supporting Stereo-seq pipelines
  • Enable cross-functional collaboration: Partner with R&D, Product, Business Development, and external collaborators to implement new workflows
  • Expand partnerships: Strengthen bioinformatics capabilities through external collaborations and strategic partnerships
  • Represent MGI externally: Present at conferences and tradeshows to support scientific and commercial initiatives

WHERE YOU WILL WORK
  • This position is eligible for remote work within the United States
  • Occasional travel may be required for conferences, collaboration, or customer support
WHAT YOU WILL BRING US
  • 2+ years of experience as an NGS bioinformatician, with focus on single-cell and/or spatial genomics data analysis
  • 3+ years of project or team management experience
  • Proficiency in Python, R, Seurat and Bash programming
  • Experience with bioinformatics frameworks such as Seurat or similar tools
  • Experience with cloud computing environments (e.g., AWS), preferably in an administrative or advanced user capacity
  • Strong understanding of molecular biology, next-generation sequencing, and spatial genomics technologies
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Deep understanding of spatial biology workflows and technologies (e.g., Stereo-seq or similar platforms)
  • Experience in algorithm development and machine learningExperience contributing to scientific publications or product development
  • Experience supporting customer-facing bioinformatics workflows
WHAT YOUR EDUCATION LOOKS LIKE

The base salary range for this position is $150,000-180,000 DOE.*
