Job summary

Computercraft Corporation seeks a Bioinformatics Scientific Lead to head the SRA Bioinformatics team supporting the NIH SRA. The role is on-site in Bethesda, MD, five days a week, working with computational biologists and computer scientists on large-scale bioinformatics initiatives.

You will lead development of new software, tools, and workflows to improve Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, and Reuse of SRA data and to enhance its impact on scientific research and public health.

Qualifications

• Doctorate-level degree in bioinformatics, molecular biology, computational biology, data science, computer science, information technology, or a similar field.
• Conceptual knowledge of genomics, molecular biology, and computational biology.
• Practical knowledge of bioinformatics and the application of genomic sequencing data.

Responsibilities

• Develop product vision, goals, and strategic roadmaps with SRA leadership.
• Lead team through complete product lifecycle from discovery to delivery.
• Lead data analysis and user research to inform product requirements and decisions.
• Prioritize actions and provide guidance to create incremental value in an Agile environment.
• Develop partnerships with stakeholders to improve data usability and impact.
