Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking an Associate Bioinformatician to manage large databases and perform statistical and genomic analyses. The role involves collaborating with researchers to explore structural variation, epigenetics, and gene expression using integrated experimental and informatics approaches in human disease research.

The ideal candidate has strong statistical and programming skills with proven genomic analysis expertise and 1–3 years of research experience.

Qualifications

B.S. in Biological Sciences, Bioinformatics, Computer Sciences, Statistics or related discipline.
M.S. in related field preferred.
Minimum 1 year of experience in research environment, 2-3 years preferred.

Responsibilities

Designs and implements bioinformatics tools and processes.
Identifies and resolves technical issues and proposes upgrades to current software.
Develop projects and work independently on a variety of bioinformatics analysis projects.
Manages databases, conducts statistical and genomic analysis, and participates in manuscripts and presentations.
May collaborate with wet-bench biologists and analyze data from microarrays and high-throughput sequencing.
