Job summary

POET in Wichita, KS is looking for a Biofuels Regulatory Program Specialist to support our carbon reduction strategy across federal and state biofuel programs. You will analyze compliance with RFS, LCFS, and related standards, develop carbon scoring models, and help implement programs ensuring regulatory readiness as business needs evolve.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in compliance, financial analysis, or engineering field.
• Bachelor's degree in Science, Mathematics, or Engineering is required.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis and modeling.
• Enjoy cross-functional teamwork that adds value to the business.
• Passion for reducing carbon footprint of bioprocessing facilities.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and ability to learn new programs.
• Knowledge of data management and basic programming theories.
• High integrity and ethical standards.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
• Ability to embrace change and innovate.
• Ability to think objectively and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Survey federal, state, and international biofuels programs for opportunities to reduce carbon intensity.
• Support bioprocessing facilities in participating in EPA RFS, LCFS, EU RED, and IRA programs.
• Understand regulations at federal, state, and international levels.
• Perform detailed carbon intensity modeling using various greenhouse gas models.
• Develop economic models to assess financial impacts of carbon-reduction strategies.
• Support independent third-party auditors for biofuels program oversight.
• Contribute to other duties as needed by the team.
