Job summary

ADM in Decatur, Illinois seeks a Biodiesel Technology Engineer to apply engineering principles to optimize existing and new biodiesel facilities, driving process improvement and technology adoption across plants.

You will collaborate with operations, maintenance and corporate technology teams to improve safety, reliability, product quality, yield and energy efficiency, benchmarking against best-in-class biodiesel technologies and developing technology portfolios. Up to 50% travel is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in industrial process manufacturing; 5+ years preferred.
• Experience in biodiesel, renewable fuels, or vegetable oil processing in continuous manufacturing preferred.
• ADM requires successful completion of a background check.
• Bachelor-level or higher in related engineering/chemistry fields.

Responsibilities

• Lead process safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Benchmark facility performance against best biodiesel technologies.
• Develop and maintain technology and capital project portfolios.
• Evaluate and champion new process technologies and equipment.
• Support advanced process control and digital optimization projects.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Coach and mentor engineers and operations personnel.
• Frequent travel up to 50% is required.
