Job summary

Seaboard Energy is seeking a Shift Manager to lead the biodiesel production operations, including utilities, wastewater, lab, and logistics, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective results. You will supervise plant operators, enforce safety policies, and drive continuous improvements across the plant.

Responsibilities include incident investigations, emergency response, contractor oversight, and maintaining detailed records.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of plant personnel.
• Strong attention to detail with focus on safe, compliant operations.
• Ability to lead a team by example and develop others in safety-critical environments.
• Ability to read and write clear, accurate reports using Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of chemical process safety and safe handling procedures preferred.
• Certifications in process operations or safety-related fields are desirable

Responsibilities

• Support and enforce HS&E policies and procedures, addressing concerns promptly and adhering to SOPs.
• Oversee biodiesel production including utilities, wastewater, lab, and logistics during safe startup, operation, and shutdown.
• Provide leadership and direct management for plant operators to ensure top performance.
• Maintain high standards of operational discipline and execution.
• Maintain accurate records and logs of activities and report changes in performance.
• Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are tracked and closed.
• Serve as primary contact for emergency response during shifts and coordinate evacuations if needed.
• Oversee contractors on site ensuring safety and compliance with permits.
• Coordinate with Logistics on shipments and feedstock deliveries with required certifications (BQ-9000).
• Communicate unplanned outages or major failures to Operations Superintendent promptly.
• Promote professionalism and organized workspaces; manage operations staff under the Operations Superintendent.
• Ensure safe work permits through routine audits and maintain OMS documentation and training progress.
• Support implementation of Operations Management System, SOPs, and BQ-9000 compliance.
• Drive company goals through leadership and regular communication with plant personnel.
• Other duties as assigned
