Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma plus seven years in a related biological field or lab; BS can substitute for four years.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities are required.
• Ability to supervise staff and work under regulatory time constraints.

Responsibilities

• Assess aquatic plant populations and recommend/permitting control programs for private and public sectors.
• Monitor aquatic plant control operations and provide extension services on request.
• Direct region-wide permitting and enforcement activities under relevant F.A.C. rules.
• Supervise regional staff and coordinate schedules, equipment, and personnel.
• Assist in filling vacancies and provide staff training as needed.
• Travel across Florida for several days at a time as required.
