Job summary

Siemens Healthineers in Hawaii seeks entry-level Biochemistry/Chemistry graduates to support purification and conjugation of proteins for in-vitro diagnostic reagents. This role is in a regulated manufacturing environment, with emphasis on accuracy, documentation, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to batch records as reviewer, maintain clean work areas.
• Participate in lean and agile visual management activities.
• May prepare change documentation and investigate problems with guidance.

Perform purification and conjugation of various proteins used in components of in-vitro diagnostic assays in a regulated environment. This is an entry level position in a Manufacturing group that is responsible for producing reagents for in-vitro diagnostic assays. The applicant should have a BS in Chemistry or Biochemistry. Recent college graduates with limited laboratory experience will be considered. Applicants with industrial experience and knowledge of GMP/ISO will be preferred. Experience in protein purification and conjugation techniques, is desirable. Local candidates are preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic and professional demeanor.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately and neatly record information while following established written protocols. Work as a member of a team to perform a variety of biochemical techniques used to purify and conjugate proteins. The successful candidate may assist with validation of process improvements or new product development.
• On-Time and On-Quality completion of manufacutring activities
• Contribute to stie metrics for for accuracy in batch record completion as either a first scientist or a second scientist reviewer
• Clean equipment and areas as part of each laboratory task
• Maintain personal and shared work areas in proper level or orderliness, cleanliness and operating condition
• Participate in group level lean and agile visual management activities
• May contribute or prepare change documentation for controlled document revisions
• May investigate and/or solve problems with direction of manager or skilled colleague
• B.S./B.A./A.S. in relevant field or relevant work experience prefferred. High School diploma with extensive experience can be considered.
• The ideal candidate will be proficient in time management, possess well developed interpersonal skills, demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, and exhibit attention to detail.

The base pay range for this position is

$71,440 - $98,230

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
