Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a bioanalytical scientist to execute quantitative methods for small molecules, peptides, and biologics using LC-MS and LBA platforms. The role emphasizes data delivery for PK/PD and in vitro studies within a GMP/GLP environment.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of lab experience or an MS with 1–2 years, plus strong communication skills and collaboration in multidisciplinary teams. Primary location: USA – West Point/PA area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years relevant laboratory experience or MS degree (1-2 years relevant experience) in analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacology, biomedical, chemical engineering or related field.
• Experience with LBA quantitation of large molecules/biologics is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present data clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and execute robust quantitative bioanalytical methods using LC-MS/MS and LBA to support discovery and early development programs.
• Generate, analyze, and deliver high-quality bioanalytical data for PK, PD, and in vitro studies in a timely manner.
• Perform manual and automated sample preparation (e.g., protein precipitation, SPE, immunocapture) for biological matrices.
• Maintain lab equipment and ensure operations comply with safety SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
• Support high-throughput workflows by operating robotics and automated systems.
