Job summary

Staffmark Group is seeking a Bindery Machine Operator in Chanhassen, MN. You will operate bindery and print-finishing equipment, set up machines, and ensure products meet quality standards in a fast-paced production setting.

The role requires reading production docs, prior experience on bindery equipment, and the ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift with defined Week 1 and Week 2 schedules. Competitive benefits and comprehensive coverage are provided.

Qualifications

• Technical training in manufacturing, machine operation, printing, bindery operations, or industrial production is a plus.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret production documentation and job specifications.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and adjust bindery and print-finishing equipment to meet production specifications.
• Operate folders, cutters, collators, stitchers, drills, gluing systems, and binding equipment.
• Configure automated production equipment with multiple stations and integrated functions.
• Perform machine changeovers, alignments, and production adjustments to maintain workflow efficiency.
• Produce completed books, catalogs, manuals, magazines, and printed materials according to quality standards.
• Inspect machinery regularly and identify potential safety concerns.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and make operational corrections as needed.
• Monitor product quality, machine performance, and production output.
• Verify dimensional accuracy and adherence to customer specifications.
• Coordinate machine operations across multiple workstations and equipment systems.
• Lead and support production team members throughout the manufacturing process.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment.

Education

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Schedule: 7 AM – 7 PM Rotating Schedule
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday
Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday

Job Overview

Experience Requirements

• Previous experience operating bindery, printing, manufacturing, production, or converting equipment required.
• Experience setting up, adjusting, troubleshooting, and maintaining automated machinery.
• Ability to read work orders and determine machine setup requirements independently.
• Knowledge of machine measurements, clearances, alignments, and equipment calibration.
• Experience monitoring production quality, efficiency, and output standards.
• Prior leadership or crew direction experience is helpful.

• Capability to work around moving mechanical equipment and manufacturing machinery.
• Strong visual attention to detail for quality inspections and machine monitoring.
• Ability to safely perform tasks in a fast‑paced industrial production setting.

The base pay range listed reflects what we reasonably expect to offer for this role. Actual pay may vary based on location, experience, and performance.
