Job summary

Walsworth in Marceline, MO is seeking a Bindery Operator II to set up, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain binding equipment and related machinery. You will work with collators, trimmers, folders, and other equipment, following safety procedures to meet production goals.

You will read and follow written instructions, communicate across shifts, and assist in training new operators while maintaining accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 months in a Bindery role.
• Ability to learn computer applications.
• Ability to read, interpret and follow instructions and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Set up, run, and maintain assigned Bindery machinery.
• Troubleshoot equipment to ensure quality and production schedules.
• Communicate with shift personnel for smooth transitions.
• Maintain accurate counts and organize scheduled work for machines.
• Assist in training new Bindery Operators.
• Monitor production and quality and suggest process improvements.

Job Summary:As a Bindery - Operator II you will be responsible for the set up, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of applicable equipment. The equipment operated includes, but is not limited to: Collators, 3-Knife Trimmers, Folders, Flatbed Trimmers, Tipper, 3-Hole Drill, and Belly Band.Required Systems/Applications:AS400 or MonarchEssential Functions:Set up, run, and maintain assigned machinery.Troubleshoot assigned machinery according to company procedures and practices to assure efficiency and quality to meet the required production schedule.Read and understand the written information pertaining to the job.Strive to meet or exceed departmental and company goals.Interpret and apply department policies, procedures and job instructions accurately.Communicate effectively with incoming shift personnel to ensure smooth transitions and minimal disruptions.Maintain accurate counts.Follow all safety procedures as set forth by Walsworth.Move and organize scheduled work for assigned machinery.Assist in training new Bindery Operators.Monitor production and quality to make recommendations on process improvements.All other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to remain organized and self-directed in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work in a team environment.Ability to learn computer applications as necessary for the position.Ability to read, interpret and follow verbal and written instructions, work procedures and other related materials.Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong customer service skills.Must communicate appropriate information accurately and clearly as needed.Ability to work required overtime beyond the standard 40-hour workweek depending on production requirements.Working Conditions/Physical Demands:Required to stand or walk for prolonged periods of time.Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects or use controls, tools or equipment.May require the ability to use a keyboard and other office equipment.May require specific vision abilities that include close vision.May be required to perform concentrated work for extended periods of time.May be required to lift, carry or exert items or objects of reasonable weight.May be required to perform duties beyond standard business hours.Minimum Requirements:High School diploma or equivalent.Minimum of 6 months in a Bindery role#INDW3
