Job summary

Phoenix Color Corp. is seeking a detail‑oriented Sheeter Operator / Material Handle to join our production team in Hagerstown, MD. You will convert large rolls of paper into precision‑cut sheets, manage machine setups, and transport heavy materials to support high‑speed printing operations.

Requirements include 6 months to 1 year of stand‑up forklift or electric pallet jack experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read a ruler. Shift: Mon–Thu, 7pm–7am.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of experience operating a stand‑up forklift or electric pallet jack.
• Ability to read a standard ruler and perform basic calculations.
• Comfort with mechanical tasks and following SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Setup and operate paper sheeting machinery following SOPs.
• Move and stage paper stock with forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance and troubleshoot minor issues.
• Ensure quality of cut paper with precise sizing and edges.
• Collaborate with team to meet daily production goals.

Are you a detail-oriented machine operator who enjoys active, hands-on work? We are seeking a reliable Sheeter Operator / Material Handle to join our production team.

In this role, you will be responsible for converting large rolls of paper into precision-cut sheeted paper for our pressroom. You will manage machine setups, perform routine maintenance, and transport heavy materials to ensure our high-speed printing operations never face downtime

Pay: $23-$30.25

Shift: Monday – Thursday 7pm – 7am

Job Responsibilities:

• Machine Operation: Setup and operate industrial paper sheeting machinery in strict accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Material Logistics: Safely move, stage, and deliver paper stock throughout the plant using forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and manual equipment.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct regular, meticulous quality checks on cut paper to ensure precise sizing, clean edges, and zero product defects.
• Equipment Maintenance: Perform basic preventative maintenance (PMs) and minor troubleshooting to keep the sheeter running at peak efficiency.
• Team & Floor Support: Work collaboratively with sheeting department personnel and floor staff to meet daily production goals.

What You Bring :

• Equipment Experience: 6 months to 1 year of experience operating a stand‑up forklift or electric pallet jack is required.
• Technical Competencies: Strong mechanical aptitude, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to accurately read a standard ruler.
• Core Skills: Ability to read and execute written job instructions and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Ability to stand and walk continuously for a 12‑hour shift.
• Strength & Material Handling: Comfort lifting 45–60 lbs regularly, and the physical capability to push/pull up to 1,100 lbs using a manual pallet jack.
• Environment: Adaptable to working in varying plant conditions, with potential exposure to controlled, non‑toxic chemical vapors or mists typical of a print manufacturing environment.
