Job summary

Marketing.com is seeking a Bindery Utility Operator/Machine Operator to oversee all phases of bindery equipment operation and maintenance. You will work with supervision and line staff to ensure efficient production within quality specs and learn multiple bindery machines as part of a broader skills growth plan.

The role requires the ability to set up, run, and troubleshoot the press from start to finish, while maintaining safety, housekeeping, and records compliance.

Qualifications

• High school coursework required; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2 years’ experience in Bindery Machine Operation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate multiple bindery machines (cutters, stitchers, folders) in an efficient manner per job tickets.
• Set up and follow through on product from start to finish according to job specifications.
• Pull sheets to check quality and accuracy of work.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on machinery.
• Assist in maintaining records and job ticket information as required.
• Maintain housekeeping to company standards.
• Assist in training general workers and lower classification union members regarding press operation.
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY

The Bindery Utility Operator/Machine Operator will oversee all phases of the operation and maintenance of the bindery equipment. Interfaces with supervision and line employees to ensure product is produced efficiently within quality specifications. Has the skill or ability to operate one or more types of bindery machinery and be willing to learn the operation and maintenance of all types of bindery machinery.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate multiple types of bindery machinery (cutters, stitchers and folders) in efficient manner in accordance with company standards for large commercial print.
• Responsible for the set-up and follow through on product from start to finish according to specifications listed on job tickets.
• Pulls sheets according to guidelines to check quality and accuracy of work.
• Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on the machinery as needed.
• Assists in the completion of records, job ticket information as required.
• Maintain level of housekeeping that complies with company standards.
• Assists in training general workers and lower classification union members with regard to operation of the press.
• Other duties as assigned

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Some high school coursework is required. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• 2 years’ experience in Bindery Machine Operation preferred.
