Allegra Marketing Print Mail in Plymouth, Michigan, is a full-service commercial printer serving local, regional, and national clients. We are looking for a Bindery Operator for our 2nd shift (2pm-10pm) and 3rd shift (10pm-6am) to join our growing team and embrace our core values: passion for success, teamwork, respect, and integrity!

If you thrive in a fast-paced production environment, have a keen attention to detail and familiarity with printing, bindery/finishing (folders, cutters, booklet maker, mailing equipment, and more) or are eager to learn, this position may be right for you.

Job Duties:

1. Set up and operate bindery machines, such as folding, scoring, and die-cutting machinery.
2. Read work orders to determine instructions and specifications for machine setup.
3. Install or adjust bindery machine devices, such as knives, guides, rollers, rounding forms, creasing rams, or clamps.
4. Examine stitched, collated, bound, or unbound product samples for defects, such as imperfect bindings, ink spots, torn pages, loose pages, or loose or uncut threads.
5. Maintain records, such as daily production records, using specified forms.
6. Lubricate, clean, or make minor repairs to machine parts to keep machines in working condition.
7. Punch holes in and fasten paper sheets, signatures, or other material, using hand or machine punches and staplers.
8. Experience with any of the following equipment is a plus but not required: MBO pile feed folders, MBO / Stahl continuous feed folders, Muller Martini saddle stitcher, Polar cutter, Heidelberg cylinder die cutters, Dick Moll folder gluer, laminator.

Qualifications:

1. Mechanical aptitude.
2. Commercial bindery experience preferred but not required. On-the-job training is also available.
