You will review job orders, calibrate machines, monitor production, inspect finished materials, and perform routine maintenance to keep operations efficient and safe. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team setting, with shifts including various daytime and overnight

  • Physical stamina and dexterity to stand, lift, and maneuver heavy materials or equipment for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate bindery equipment, such as cutting, folding, stitching, and binding machines, to process printed materials.
  • Review job orders, specifications, and customer requirements to determine the appropriate setup and materials needed for each project.
  • Adjust and calibrate machine settings to ensure accurate alignment, appropriate paper handling, and proper finishing of printed materials.
  • Monitor production processes to identify and resolve any issues or malfunctions that may affect the quality or efficiency of operations, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Inspect printed materials throughout the production process to ensure they meet quality standards, making adjustments and performing quality checks to maintain consistency.
  • Perform routine maintenance on bindery equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts, to ensure proper functioning and prevent breakdowns.
  • Collaborate with production teams to coordinate workflow, prioritize jobs, and meet production schedules, ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and materials needed for bindery operations, tracking usage and ordering replacements as necessary.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in bindery technology, and equipment operation techniques to continuously improve efficiency and quality of work.
