Job summary

Lakeside Book Company is hiring a Bindery Operator 1 at the North Plant in Crawfordsville, IN. The starting rate is $22.00–$27.40 per hour, with a 7% increase for second and third shift.

Benefits include safety shoe and safety glasses reimbursements, and the company will provide all necessary tools. As an Assistant Machine Operator, you will set up, adjust and operate a single piece of machinery, participate in training to advance to Lead operator, inspect equipment for safety, monitor quality

Qualifications

• Basic math and computer knowledge required.
• Willingness to participate in cross‑training and training to promote into a Lead operator position.
• Preference for candidates open to cross‑training and assuming backup roles as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up, Adjust & Operate a single piece of machinery.
• Participate in training to prepare to promote into a Lead operator position.
• Inspect equipment for safety issues.
• Monitor quality, output and productivity.
• Learn to utilize tools to measure and adjust machine to target levels.
• Learn and engage in preventative maintenance tasks as required.
• Assist lead operator with providing guidance to crew members.
• Work in a team environment and cross-train with others.

Bindery Operator 1

Location: We have 2 locations in Crawfordsville, IN: North Plant at 1009 Sloan Street; South Plant at 600 State Road 32 West. This job is for the North Plant.

As an Assistant Machine Operator, you will:

• Set up, Adjust & Operate a single piece of Machinery
• Participate in training to prepare to promote into a Lead operator position
• Inspect equipment for safety issues
• Monitor quality, output and productivity
• Learn to utilize tools to measure and adjust machine to target levels
• Learn and engage in preventative maintenance tasks as required
• Assist lead operator with providing guidance to crew members
• Work in a team environment and cross-train with others

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 20-50 pounds
• Ability to stand for the duration of your shift

Qualifications:

• Ability to do basic math and computer knowledge
