Bindery Operator 3

Wage: $25.25/hour with an increase in 6 months if eligible

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Bindery Operator 3 to oversee finishing processes, operate complex machinery, train junior staff, and troubleshoot equipment issues to meet production deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Operation:Set up, adjust, and operate complex bindery machines such as perfect binders, cutters, folders, collators, and stitchers.
  • Troubleshooting & Maintenance:Diagnose and resolve complex operating and mechanical issues, perform routine maintenance, and minimize downtime.
  • Quality Assurance:Monitor production, ensure quality control, and conduct final inspections.
  • Leadership & Training:Direct crew activities, train junior operators, and ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Workflow Management:Interpret job orders, plan operations, and coordinate with other departments to meet schedules.
  • Documentation & Safety:Document production data, maintain records, and follow safety protocols.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience:Typically 3-5+ years in bindery operations, with experience in complex projects or leadership.
  • Technical Knowledge:Expertise in bindery equipment setup, procedures, capabilities, and limitations, including knowledge of paper types.
  • Mechanical Aptitude:Strong mechanical skills for making complex machine adjustments.
  • Problem-Solving:Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Communication:Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical Demands:Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds (occasionally 75), and perform repetitive tasks.
