Job summary

Walbec Group is seeking a Quality Control Technician to perform sampling and standardized testing of construction materials per AASHTO/ASTM or customer specs. The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and effective data handling in a lab and field support context.

You will input data into LIMS, communicate results to stakeholders, and ensure equipment calibration and maintenance while upholding cleanliness and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; team oriented.
• Ability to multitask and work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Capacity to frequently lift weights between 50 and 70 lbs.
• Physical capability to conduct testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform sampling and standardized testing according to AASHTO, ASTM, and customer specifications.
• Adhere to SOPs for all tasks and maintain data accuracy.
• Input data into Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Communicate and document test results to relevant internal and external stakeholders.
• Document all sampling, testing, and subsequent actions taken.
• Analyze test outcomes and assist in making necessary process control adjustments.
• Ensure equipment functionality and timely calibrations as per schedule.
• Oversee regular equipment maintenance and ensure malfunctioning equipment is marked out of service.
• Uphold a professional standard of cleanliness and maintenance for all equipment and facilities.
• Engage professionally with both internal and external stakeholders.

Attain basic understanding of binder grading system. Complete accurate standard mathematical computations per the testing procedure(s). Document all sampling, testing, and subsequent actions taken. Analyze test outcomes and assist in making necessary process control adjustments. Ensure equipment functionality and timely calibrations as per schedule. Oversee regular equipment maintenance and ensure malfunctioning equipment is marked out of service.
