Job summary

Weaver Popcorn Manufacturing in Van Buren, IN is seeking a Bin Technician to help ensure our corn is stored, conditioned, and handled properly before entering production. The role involves outdoor, hands-on work operating equipment and supporting safety, quality, and efficiency improvements in a fast-paced environment.

You will monitor temperature, moisture, and product quality; collect samples; load and unload bins; and enter quality data into AS400.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and understand English to perform job duties effectively and safely.
• Ability to work at heights up to 80 feet.
• Flexible schedule to support operational needs, including weekends or extended shifts.
• Drive a semi-truck.
• Drive farm related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain grain drying and storage systems.
• Monitor temperature, moisture, airflow, and product quality.
• Collect and test corn samples.
• Prepare and clean bins between fills.
• Unload incoming popcorn.
• Confirm inventory and proper bin placement.
• Assist with bin inspections, cleanouts, and preventive maintenance.
• Probe bins and enter quality information into AS400.
• Operate tractors, augers, and semi-trucks.
• Support safety, quality, and efficiency improvements.

Bin Technician

Location: Van Buren, IN
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Summer hours may shift to 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM due to heat.)

What You'll Do:

As a Bin Technician, you will:

• Operate and maintain grain drying and storage systems
• Monitor temperature, moisture, airflow, and product quality
• Collect and test corn samples
• Prepare and clean bins between fills
• Unload incoming popcorn
• Confirm inventory and proper bin placement
• Assist with bin inspections, cleanouts, and preventive maintenance
• Probe bins and enter quality information into AS400
• Operate tractors, augers, and semi-trucks
• Support safety, quality, and efficiency improvements

Harvest Season:

Harvest generally begins in September and may continue into the following year, depending on weather. During the six- to eight-week harvest period, grain receiving may operate up to 12 hours per day, including weekends. Additional overtime may be available.
