Environmental Air Systems is seeking a BIM/VDC Project Lead to manage multiple BIM/VDC projects, lead assigned project leads, and coordinate with design, field operations, and third-party resources. You will set up initial CAD/Revit files, manage schedules, and ensure deliverables align with master construction timelines.

The role requires experience leading collaborative teams, proficiency with Revit/Navisworks, and strong communication across design and construction teams.

• Cover and fill in for Design Project Leads when they are out.
• Review mech designer’s work prior to release.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Essential Functions

• Be able to perform functions of BIM/VDC Project Lead in their absence.
• Be able to manage multiple BIM/VDC projects - leading assigned BIM/VDC project leads
• Review construction schedule and determine milestones and completion dates for tasks to create a project BIM/VDC schedule to be added to a master department schedule. This will be done in collaboration with the design department manager and project manager. Maintain a 3 week look-ahead/deliverables schedule.
• Assign tasks with the BIM/VDC project leads and support designers assigned to the team.
• Set up initial CAD / Revit files from the design team oriented to the project origin.. This includes creating, cleaning up, and orienting xrefs/linked files; placing xrefs/linked files on proper layers or filters; setting up detail sheets; and ensuring everything needed to begin modeling is included.
• Lead and work with 3rd Party resources outside EAS when needed.
• Review project models and provide feedback to assigned teams.
• Responsible for drawing and other BIM/VDC deliverables turned over to support project BIM/VDC and Construction schedules.
• Help Construction Design Leadership with the development and implementation of improvement initiatives. Initiatives, can be global or for individual construction divisions

Summary of Duties

• Track progress of Project leads, support designers and 3rd party resources assigned to the team for assigned projects to inform Construction Design leadership and project manager of potential issues coming up so issues can be worked out ahead of time before they are a schedule or construction issue.
• Inform Construction Design Leadership and send notices to EAS project team members when information or tasks they owe design are expected to impact design and construction schedules.
• Work closely with the Construction Prefab Manager.
• Provide information to the document coordinator to log, distribute, and track RFI’s. Notify document coordinator when RFIs must be answered in order not to impact schedule.
• Provide all files and information to support designers and 3rd party resources assigned that they need to complete their tasks.
• Cover and fill in for Design Project Leads for assigned projects when they are out.
• Review mech designer’s work prior to releasing
• Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Required Skills

• Revit 2024 or newer
• Bluebeam
• Navisworks 2024 or newer
• AutoCAD (helpful)
• MS Office (Word, Excel)/Google (Docs, Sheets)
• Experience leading a collaborative team.
• Proficient with Google Meet and MS Teams.
• Proficient with email (Gmail) and calendars.
• Proficient with Autodesk Construction Cloud/Forma and its modules
• OSHA 10 certification

Interpersonal

• Be able to interact collaboratively with Field Operations Teams, Prefab Manager, Design Support Coordinator, and assigned designers on a daily basis.
• Be able to lead and encourage assigned design teams to meet project schedules and goals.
• Be able to give helpful feedback to assigned project designers and BIM/VDC project leads to improve their skills and quality to improve project outcome.

Physical Demands

• Be able to walk distances to review ongoing work at project sites and EAS facilities.
• Able to stand and walk as needed to observe the project under construction.
• Able to climb ladders or stairs as needed to observe the project under construction.
