Job summary

Hunt Electric’s VDC Process Intern role is based in Eagan, MN, supporting the VDC team by reviewing Revit models, project files, and reference materials for electrical construction projects. This learning-focused internship emphasizes BIM/VDC, standards, and process improvements.

You will receive training on department standards, quality-review processes, and internal tools, with opportunities to help identify items needing attention and to update standards and procedures.

Qualifications

• Pursuing associate or bachelor’s degree in Construction Technology, Engineering Technology, Architectural/BIM Technology, Electrical Design, or related field.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Interest in electrical construction, BIM/VDC, Revit modeling, or process improvement.
• Strong attention to detail and organized work.
• Ability to learn and follow checklists and instructions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook).
• Ability to work with team members while managing tasks independently.
• Must be able to commute to Eagan, MN office for in-person work.

Responsibilities

• Help review electrical Revit models using quality-control checklists and guidance from the VDC Process Manager.
• Record findings clearly and communicate items needing correction to project leads and the VDC Process Manager.
• Assist with organizing project files, Revit content, templates, and department reference materials.
• Help review, format, and update Department Standards, VDC SOPs, and project GO-BY materials.
• Participate in team meetings, training, and improvement projects as needed.
