Job summary

Tri-City Group is seeking a BIM/VDC Designer in Des Moines, IA to support the design and layout of new construction projects. You will work with the Design Manager and collaborate with the Construction Services division to deliver 3D models.

The role offers training opportunities, a focus on staying current with technology, and growth within the BIM/VDC discipline. Prior experience in electrical or construction is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Willing to learn Revit, AutoCAD and other 3D modeling software.
• Strong background in technology and ability to adapt to new tools.
• Previous experience in electrical or construction industry is a plus but not required.

Job description

Tri-City Group is seeking a BIM/VDC Designer for an opening in Des Moines, IA. The BIM/VDC Designer will be responsible for assisting the BIM/VDC Design Manager on the design and layout of new construction projects and working as a team with the Construction Services division.

Tri-City Group is willing to train a highly motivated candidate, has the ability to multi-task, has a strong attention to detail, and looking for a career in Design. Candidates will have a strong background in technology must be willing to learn Revit, AutoCAD, and other 3D modeling software and be willing to take on new technologies as we continue to grow with the industry. Previous experience in the electrical or construction industry is a plus but not necessary.

Main Duties Include But Are Not Limited To

• Working with the estimators to design 3D models


• Maintaining up to date knowledge of technology


• Working with the Construction Service department on new techniques and options for BIM/VDC design


• Working with the project managers to ensure deadlines are met.
