Job summary

MissionHires is seeking a detail-oriented Plumbing or Sheet Metal Detailer to support mechanical construction projects by producing accurate shop drawings, equipment layouts, room layouts, and 3D BIM models. You will coordinate MEP systems and help identify design clashes before they affect the field.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED with 2+ years of related experience or a trade apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 2+ years of related experience.
• Experience with plumbing, piping, HVAC, and sheet metal trades.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Proficiency with Navisworks, Revit, and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of 3D modeling, BIM coordination, and clash detection processes.

Responsibilities

• Create shop drawings for plumbing, piping, HVAC, and sheet metal systems.
• Develop equipment layouts, room layouts, installation details, and other construction drawings.
• Create and maintain 3D BIM models using applicable AEC, BIM, and CAD software.
• Coordinate MEP systems and support clash detection to reduce potential construction errors, rework, time, and costs.
• Receive, log, track, expedite, distribute, and maintain shop drawings, RFIs, and other project documentation.
• Maintain organized document-control protocols so project information is accessible and understandable to project stakeholders.
• Collaborate with design, build, and field teams to identify and resolve design issues before installation.
• Read and interpret construction documents, specifications, and installation requirements.
• Attend construction coordination meetings and other project meetings as required.
• Support project coordination activities across plumbing, piping, HVAC, and sheet metal trades.

This role supports mechanical construction projects by producing accurate shop drawings, equipment and room layouts, and 3D BIM models; coordinating MEP systems; and helping identify and resolve design and installation clashes before they affect the field.
