We are looking for a BIM Technician to join our dynamic team and help us push the boundaries of BIM in the construction industry.

Position Overview

The BIM Technician will assist in the development, modification, and management of 3D BIM models and 2D documentation using Revit and related software. This entry-to-mid-level role involves close collaboration with project teams to ensure accurate modeling, documentation, and adherence to project standards. The ideal candidate has strong drafting/modeling skills, an understanding of building systems, and a passion for construction technology.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Create and edit accurate 3D BIM models using Autodesk Revit for slotted metal framing and support systems.
  2. Convert 3D models into 2D construction drawings (plans, sections, and details).
  3. Assist with as-built models and record documentation.
  4. Collaborate with RDW team members to ensure design accuracy.
Design Coordination
  1. Work with BIM Designers, Engineers, and Project Managers to capture design intent.
  2. Participate in coordination meetings and assist with clash detection (e.g., Navisworks).
  3. Update models to reflect design changes and client feedback.
Standards & Quality Assurance
  1. Ensure modeling follows RDW’s BIM standards, templates, and naming conventions.
  2. Perform QA/QC checks on drawings and models.
  3. Help manage BIM content libraries (families, templates, components).
Project Support & Documentation
  1. Support scheduling, quantity take-offs, and basic material tracking.
  2. Generate views, schedules, and exports to assist project teams.
  3. Maintain digital file structure and documentation in platforms such as BIM 360.
Growth & Learning
  1. Participate in ongoing training to build technical and software proficiency.
  2. Stay current on industry trends and emerging BIM tools.
Qualifications

Education

  • Associate’s degree or technical diploma in Drafting, Building Tech, Architecture, Engineering Tech, or related field.
  • Certifications in BIM or Autodesk Revit a plus.

Experience

  • 1–2 years of experience using BIM in construction/design environments.
  • Experience modeling structural or architectural systems in Revit preferred.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
  • Familiarity with Navisworks, AutoCAD, or BIM 360 is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of construction documents and building systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and teamwork.
