Job summary

F.E. Moran Group of Companies in Northbrook, IL is seeking a Pipe Spooling Specialist to lay out complex mechanical rooms, create spool assemblies, and generate spool sheets and shop drawings. The role focuses on prefabrication from layout to fabrication drawings and responds to field inquiries.

You will join a team working on large, complex projects, with opportunities to develop BIM skills and contribute to project success in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, BIM or related field.
• Strong knowledge of BIM and mechanical systems.
• Experience with 3D modeling in Autodesk software (Revit, AutoCAD Fabrication, Navisworks).
• Ability to read architectural and mechanical drawings and P&ID-like diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Organize 3D models and detect conflicts with other building systems.
• Layout 3D fabrication models of mechanical rooms.
• Prepare shop and spool drawings and field layouts.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, field and shop teams.
• Communicate project requirements and design specifications clearly.
