Job summary

Thornton Tomasetti in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a BIM modeling specialist to create 3D models and 2D drawings in Revit, collaborating with in-house and external teams to deliver BIM content.

You will manage workflows, maintain files, and prepare deliverables; you may also create 3D views for marketing and projects. A related degree and strong communication are required, with ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Drafting, Civil Engineering, Architecture or related field.
• Excellent graphic, written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of 3D parametric modeling and integrated BIM.
• Experience with drawing production and standard construction techniques.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Rhino, Grasshopper, Tekla; BIM data exchanges preferred.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Produce 3D models consistent with project instructions and TT standards.
• Annotate, dimension, and detail 2D production drawings per TT practices.
• Manage BIM workflow including folders, sheets, geo-location and transmittals.
• Maintain structural BIM/CAD files for design drawings.
• Coordinate with engineers and clients on BIM content and delivery.
• Use Navisworks for project collaboration across disciplines.
• Prepare and review project deliverables for client submissions.
• Create 3D views or renderings for marketing or project use.
