Job summary

HDR is seeking a BIM Model Manager in the United States (Missouri area) to lead and manage BIM workflows across multi-discipline projects. You will oversee the digital model environment, coordinate disciplines, and develop the Digital Delivery Plan (DDP) in collaboration with project teams and HDR management.

The role emphasizes advanced BIM skills, strong communication, and a proactive approach to ensure model health, quality coordination, and on-time delivery of construction documents.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or a combination of education and relevant experience.
• Minimum of 5 years digital design (BIM element authoring) and 3 years digital delivery (model management) experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of all discipline relations and operations of building systems.
• Advanced skillset of 3D design software and document management infrastructure.
• Advanced skillset of 3D Coordination tools.
• Advanced skillset of Microsoft Office products and communication tools.
• Familiar with industry standards and practices and discipline codes and specifications.
• Familiar with basic automation and programming applications for efficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Manage the digital model environment and deliverables for an entire project.
• Coordinate how disciplines interact and how construction documents are produced.
• Work with Project Manager to generate and maintain the Digital Delivery Plan (DDP).
• Establish server infrastructure, discipline models, and digital deliverables per scope.
• Execute digital deliverables and support production teams through the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical support and communicate the deliverable schedule to the team.
• Monitor model health and coordination processes through design and construction phases.
• Lead Digital Delivery coordination meetings to ensure QA/QC across 3D coordination work.
• Develop and maintain the Digital Delivery Plan (DDP).
• Set up document management system and server infrastructure for multi-discipline projects.
• Ensure appropriate software, versions, access, and training for project needs.
• Generate model setup including coordinates, scales, views, sheets for disciplines.
• Maintain company standards and model health.
• Archive projects at submittals and closeout.

In the role of the BIM Model Manager, you will have the opportunity to:

• Manage the digital model environment and deliverables for an entire project
• Have an advanced understanding of how all disciplines interact and how construction documents are produced
• Work directly with the Project Manager to generate and maintain the Digital Delivery Plan (DDP), while managing the deliverables outlined within
• Begin the project initiation procedure, establishing the server infrastructure, discipline models, and digital deliverables outlined in the project scope
• Execute digital deliverables and support production teams throughout the complete lifecycle of projects
• Provide technical support, while communicating the deliverable schedule to the project team
• Maintain quality, this individual will monitor the model health and coordination processes of the project, from the planning phase thru issue of construction documents
• Execute these tasks with minimal oversight by the Digital Delivery Leads and provide guidance to project team members
• Develop and maintain the Digital Delivery Plan (DDP)
• Establish the document management system and maintain the server infrastructure for multi-discipline projects
• Ensure the team has the appropriate software, versions, access, and training needed to execute the project requirements
• Generate and maintain model setup including project information, coordinates, scales, orientations, scope boundaries, match-lines, views, sheets, and general models, to accommodate the disciplines and project requirements
• Monitor and maintain company standards and model health
• Host Digital Delivery coordination meetings with the project team to ensure optimal quality control through Design Reviews and 3D Coordination processes
• Communicate, coordinate, and compile all project digital deliverables and exchange process at predetermined milestones
• Project archiving at submittals and closeout
• Engage in close and effective communication and presentations with HDR management, production staff, and clients

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in developing and using automation software products and procedures for design
• Experience in development and management of diverse teams
• Preference given to local candidates
