Job summary

ACCO Engineered Systems in San Diego is seeking a Project Engineer to coordinate technical aspects of assigned projects under the Project Manager, reporting to the Sales Manager, and to foster clear communication among clients, architects, vendors, and internal teams in our design‑built process.

You will gain experience in estimating, scheduling, BIM, and design using standard engineering tools, and you will draft and manage submittals, procurement logs, change orders, and shop drawings while

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Progression from Project Engineer I to II/III or Senior based on performance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
• Experience with listed business systems software (JDE, IFS, BidTracer, FastEst, Bluebeam, Box, Smartsheet).

Responsibilities

• Draft and manage critical project documentation (proposals, letters, memos, subcontracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, procurement logs, shop drawings).
• Organize internal and external project meetings including kickoff, BIM coordination, and scheduling reviews.
• Perform material takeoffs, solicit quotes, compile bid estimates, and assemble change order packages.
• Interpret plans/specifications to monitor progress, enforce quality, and resolve installation challenges.
• Lead procurement tracking, vendor/subcontractor buyouts, and delivery of purchased items.
• Track installations, forecast labor, review invoices, and develop client billings.
• Lead job closeout with O&M manuals, commissioning docs, as-builts, and warranty processing.
