Job summary

University Mechanical is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Project Manager for our San Diego, CA location. This role leads mechanical construction projects safely on time and within budget for Healthcare, Life Science, Commercial, Industrial and other markets.

The PM will coordinate field teams, oversee safety, quality, procurement, change orders, owner/client relations, and project cash flow, leveraging BIM capabilities and design/build expertise to deliver complex installations.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years construction work-related experience and/or a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills for handling and archiving technical data.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical construction projects; ensure safety, productivity, quality, and budget control.
• Oversee project financials, projections, reporting, and cash flow.
• Coordinate procurement, change orders, and owner/client relations.
• Direct reports and ensure availability during active work hours.
• Utilize BIM capabilities, design/build processes to deliver complex installations.
