Job summary

HDR, Inc. invites a Digital Design Specialist to join our Building Engineering Services.

You will help define BIM projects, develop construction documents, and support digital delivery workflows aligned with design intent. You will collaborate with project engineers and designers, maintain discipline models, prepare drawings, and coordinate with other teams to ensure accuracy, quality, and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or a minimum of 3 years related industry experience.
• Technically qualified with 3D design software and document management infrastructure.
• Competency of Microsoft Office products and communication tools.
• Experience with 3D Coordination tools.
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational traits are essential.
• Intermediate understanding of engineering or architectural concepts.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project engineers and designers to evaluate, define, and review customer objectives within the project design, maintaining technical competency in the software identified for Digital Delivery.
• Define and develop complete BIM project related construction documents to include all design documents (SD, DD, CD) to help show design intent, and project specifications.
• Support the resolution of client BIM comments across all Construction Administration (CA) activities.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams and clients to develop functional requirements for modeling system designs and other project related requirements.
• Maintain knowledge of current industry standards and new emerging design tools.
• Create and maintain the discipline model, systems, content, and overall digital delivery output for that discipline
• Accurately model the BIM elements in the correct special constraints of the modeling environment, using the current 3D software
• Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, diagrams, and schedules within the project scope, design schedule, and budget, using the current 3D software
• Maintain the discipline model including project information, coordinates, scales, orientations, scope boundaries, match-lines, views, and sheets
• Assist in monitoring, improving, and maintaining company standards
• Coordinate the design with other discipline models through Design Reviews and the 3D Coordination process
• Assist or execute any additional Digital Delivery requirements identified on the project
