Job summary

U.S. Engineering is seeking a detailer lead to coordinate BIM models for mechanical and plumbing systems. You will supervise a detailing crew, coordinate with internal and external teams, and ensure shop and fabrication drawings meet project requirements.

The role requires Revit, Navisworks Manage, and AutoCAD proficiency, plus a background in HVAC/piping/plumbing layouts and 5+ years in the field. Some travel and onsite work may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Associates Degree in Engineering or Drafting Technology helpful.
• Completion of a trade related apprenticeship program required in certain locations.
• Proficiency with Revit software.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD software preferred.
• Proficiency with Navisworks Manage software.
• Should have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Proficiency with Procore software preferred.
• Experience with layout of HVAC / Piping / Plumbing.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in the field as a Pipe Fitter, Plumber or Sheet Metal worker is preferred.
• Understanding of layout of HVAC / piping / plumbing.
• Understanding of mechanical systems (HVAC, Pipefitting, Plumbing) preferred.
• Thorough understanding of HVAC, Piping, and/or Plumbing systems
• Understanding of mechanical construction principles and processes
• Understanding of building codes

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of detailers to complete coordinated Mechanical and Plumbing BIM models.
• Model and coordinate 3D intelligent models and create deliverable documents.
• Use Revit to model, coordinate and produce shop and fabrication deliverables.
• Oversee and coordinate models with in-house and out-of-house teams.
• Analyze submittals, sketches, and input material to determine best approach for drawings.
• Develop proficiency in system operation and in all CAD software options.
• Travel to remote job sites for meetings, troubleshooting and constructability reviews.
