Job summary

Hoffman Construction is seeking a BIM Coordinator to support the on-site BIM Department through the project lifecycle. You will report to the BIM Manager and collaborate with site leadership, project teams, and Construction Managers for daily coordination and BIM standard adherence.

You will mentor junior staff, optimize Navisworks workflows, and ensure modeling quality. This is a fully on-site role near Boise, Idaho, with a salary range of $85,000–$120,000 DOE plus incentives.

Qualifications

  • 4–7 years of experience in AEC industry required.
  • Experience in industrial/advanced manufacturing projects required.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or related field preferred.

Job Description
Position Summary:

Hoffman Construction is seeking a BIM Coordinator to serve as an integral member of the on-site BIM Department, providing essential support throughout the construction project lifecycle. Reporting to the BIM Manager, this role works closely with site leadership, cross-functional project teams, and Construction Managers for day-to-day coordination activities, uphold BIM process standards, and support technology and training needs.

The BIM Coordinator will also provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced team members, optimizing Navisworks workflows and ensuring adherence to project modeling and coordination standards.

This is a fully on-site position located near Boise, Idaho.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $120,000 DOE + Incentives

Essential Responsibilities
  • Serve as the technical BIM advisor in the onsite field office.
  • Participate in BIM setup, standards development, and coordination process for project phases.
  • Establish early data exchange standards with the project team to optimize BIM utilization for scheduling, quantity take-off, estimating, and related functions.
  • Support cross-functional technology collaboration across the full project team, including clients, design staff, builders, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate and manage model families and initiate coordination efforts using Navisworks Manage.
  • Facilitate 3D model exchange and coordination with consultants, contractors, and fabricators.
  • Leverage Newforma Konekt to support collaboration, issue tracking, and project coordination across teams.
  • Run clash detection studies, generate reports for the project team, assign responsible party workflows, and manage tasks through to resolution.
  • Ensure construction geometry is accurate and presented clearly for use by field crews.
  • Maintain model libraries throughout the project lifecycle and create archive record models at completion.
  • Provide clear communication across verbal, written, and electronic channels.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Professional Experience And Education
  • Four to seven (4-7) years' experience in architectural, engineering, or construction (AEC) industry required.
  • Specific experience in industrial and/or advanced manufacturing projects is required.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or related industry preferred.

  • Advanced proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM), AutoCAD, Revit, and Autodesk Navisworks Manage.
  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams), with a working understanding of computer network environments.
  • Proficient in project management software such as Procore and Bluebeam.
  • Experience administering and organizing Autodesk Forma (formerly known as ACC), and other common data environments.
  • Experience with Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) methods and digital fabrication preferred.
  • Experience working in or around data centers, semiconductor facilities, and/or advanced manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Ability to successfully host, facilitate, and document BIM coordination meetings.
  • Trained in design document reading and specifications.

Physical And Mental Requirements
  • Environment & Mobility
    • Must work in both office and active construction site environments, spending more than 50% of time stationary.
    • Must access all site areas and levels, including climbing stairs, ascending/descending ladders, and entering confined or underground spaces.
    • Must work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Strength & Dexterity
    • Must lift or manipulate up to 50 lbs to a height of three feet and carry or push it 50–100 feet. Frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, and crawling required for examining project work. Constantly operates computers and standard office equipment.
  • Sensory
    • Vision: Close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment required for both screen‑based and outdoor environments.
    • Hearing: Must tolerate proximity to loud equipment; hearing protection required as needed. Regular communication with colleagues and customers in office, site, and digital meeting settings.
    • Speech: Must communicate plans, protocols, directives, and SOPs related to project scope clearly in English.
  • Transportation
    • Must hold a valid driver's license and safely operate a vehicle.
  • Cognitive
    • Must apply independent judgment, critical thinking, and organizational skills to analyze data, transcribe information, interpret printed and digital documents, and determine the best method to accomplish desired results.
